We offer a quality tree surgery service across East Devon. We take on work of any size, without losing the care and attention that has built our reputation. We work with clients in both the residential and commercial sectors.

We offer an extensive tree surgery service with a fully qualified team of arborists. All our work is performed strictly in accordance with British Standards ‘Recommendations for tree work’ BS3998 2010.

The services we provide include:

Tree Pruning
Formative pruning and the select removal of problem branches, thereby reducing the height and or spread of the tree, leaving it with a more attractive and healthier structure.

Tree Reshaping
A well-proportioned tree is a delight to see, and careful reshaping and thinning can greatly improve its appearance and structure by the careful removal of the outer branches.

Tree Reduction
A Complete reduction of the size of the tree by the careful removal of the outer crown to produce a smaller sized canopy.

Tree Felling
Whilst we consider tree removal as the last resort, often there is no other alternative than to carefully remove the tree carefully in sections. We have the latest rigging equipment and training to ensure you get the very best and safest sectional fell.

Crown lifting
The removal of lower branches to lift the crown height. This often used to provide clearance for pedestrians or buildings. This is normally achieved by removing the lowest branches, of the crown, to a specified height.

Crown Reduction
The ends of all branches are reduced, in length, back to suitable ‘growth points’ (side branches). Thus, the entire tree crown is reduced in size and volume, whilst retaining the natural shape of the species. This procedure is usually stipulated in terms of a percentage (rarely more than 30%).

Crown Thinning
Branches are removed from within the tree crown to make it uniformly less dense. The natural shape of the tree is completely unaffected but the ‘Sail Effect’ (wind resistance) is reduced and more light allowed to filter through. This procedure is usually stipulated in terms of a percentage (rarely more than 30%).

Planting
Supply and correct initial planting of trees, watering and aftercare along with formative pruning when still young to ensure optimum future form.

Stump Removal
Either by ‘grubbing out’ by hand (if the stump is small enough), employing a stump grinding machine (if the stump is large) or poisoning the stump and allowing it to slowly decay over time. All pruning cuts comply to modern arboriculture principles which limit, as much as possible, the impact of tree surgery on tree health.

Hedge Trimming
Hedges of any size can be topped and trimmed to your specific dimensions.

Dead Wooding
The removal of dead or dying branches usually for safety and aesthetics. Larger dead branches can be safely retained (for example to provide habitat for birds and insects) by reducing their length and weight.

Pollarding
Removing a substantial amount of the tree crown and then regularly pruning at set intervals – provides long lasting access or sunlight without removing the tree completely. This is not a recommended approach to tree care.

Log Delivery
Truck load, Half truck load or bags of logs delivered to you. Kindling and Large bags of Kiln Dried Hardwood Logs also available.

Site Clearance
Remove trees, shrubs and vegetation from brownfield land or allocated construction sites – providing access for future construction and compliance with recognised wildlife protection schemes.

In addition to our tree surgery services, we also deliver seasoned firewood, kiln-dried sustainably-sourced logs and firewood to Exeter, across East Devon and West Dorset (please call us if your area isn't shown):
